Overall purpose of this position:


Coordinate and prioritize the daily activities of the Inventory Control staff under the guidelines established by the Inventory Supervisor or Manager. Provide support and guidance to Inventory Control staff as well as other departments in the Distribution Center.


Major activities, which must be performed in order to carry out the purpose of the position as described above:


Prioritize and delegate tasks for the Inventory Auditors based on the IC Department Standards and under the guidelines established by the IC Supervisor or Manager.

Perform audits of IC Auditors work and report results/feedback to the IC Supervisor or Manager. Demonstrate responsible good judgment in the handling/sharing of this information.

Coordinate department activities in a positive demeanor with outside departments to meet facility and company objectives.

Communicate with employees/supervisors in your department and other departments regarding routine as well as unusual inventory issues. Partner with them to gain their understanding and support of the recommended solution. Be an attentive listener.

Research inventory discrepancies and issues in IRMS and FDM4 to identify issues and determine root causes. Communicate with Accounting, Purchasing, Operations, other IC departments and DC management to resolve issues as needed.

Plan and organize inventory projects as directed by the Inventory Supervisor or Manager.

Review system error and exception reports to assess problems and determine the appropriate resolution. Work with DC System Support or Operations if needed.

Train new and incumbent employees on inventory systems, procedures, policies and job skills needed to successfully perform their job. Assist the Inventory Supervisor or Manager in developing training plans for employees who need additional coaching.

Be a positive role model. Foster an atmosphere of harmony and cooperation within your department and between various departments in the company.

Notify the Inventory Supervisor or Manager in a timely manner of any problems that you are unable to resolve.

Ensure all department reports and logs are completed accurately and distributed on time. Create and update department spreadsheets using Excel.

Coordinate daily department activities in the absence of the Inventory Supervisor or Manager.

Perform all department tasks.

Adhere to established safety regulations and company policies/procedures.


Serve as a member of the distribution center team by assisting in other areas as needed.


Qualifications:


Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this position. Identify specific concepts, courses, training programs or required certifications.


Demonstrated attention to detail with a high requirement for accuracy

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with others

Good training skills including the ability to present training materials, perform hands on training and basic assessment

Ability to review data, determine cause/effect; identify root cause and make sound decisions as well as recommendations to improve processes

Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks

Solid understanding of inventory and warehouse systems/practices with a strong understanding of how they are integrated.

Strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to pose questions or present issues to co-workers and other departments in professional/businesslike manner.

Ability to identify problems/issues and resolve with minimal supervision.

Solid knowledge of company product line

Ability to use basic warehouse tools/equipment

May be required to be certified to operate motorized equipment (electric pallet jack, stock picker, mule or other power equipment)

Physical agility and stamina to stand, walk, bend and lift (up to 60 pounds).

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficient with PC, spreadsheets and other software.

Physical agility to stand, walk and lift 60 pounds.

Flexibility with work schedule; available to work overtime.


Previous positions that are necessary background experience to qualify for this position.
