Accounting Manager Full-Time | Onsite | Chicago A privately held,
design-focused services company in the $10M-$25M annual revenue
range is seeking a hands-on accounting leader to take ownership of
all core financial operations. This organization has been in
business for over two decades and is experiencing strong, steady
growth. We've supported this organization for many years and are
now backfilling a professional we placed ten years ago. It's a
great environment where employees build long tenures. This is an
onsite, owner-facing role for candidates who enjoy being deeply
immersed in the business, understand the dynamics of a
project-driven environment, and are motivated by improving
processes, strengthening financial controls, and supporting
operational decision-making day to day. The Scope: This position
can be conceived of as a Senior Project Accountant, Accounting
Manager, depending on experience. Key Focus Areas: Full oversight
of Accounting/Finance operations Job cost tracking and project
profitability reporting Cash flow forecasting and daily working
capital monitoring Leadership of AP/AR, payroll reporting, and
month-end processes Contract administration and documentation
control Coordination of insurance, benefits providers, and
risk-related activities Asset management, fixed asset tracking, and
equipment purchasing support Vendor oversight and negotiation
Collaboration with external legal, insurance, HR, and operational
partners Direct reporting to the company owner and routine
financial analysis to guide decisions Required Qualifications: 5
years of accounting experience in a project-based, service-oriented
industry such as construction, landscaping, specialty trades, or
related fields Demonstrated job cost accounting experience Strong
cash flow management capabilities QuickBooks expertise, ideally
including multi-job or multi-class environments Clear communication
style with the ability to support both financial and non-financial
stakeholders A hands-on approach suited to a small, highly
collaborative organization Comfortable being onsite full-time
Compensation Base Salary: $95,000-$120,000 per year This role is
not bonus-eligible based on the current compensation structure.
Benefits Benefit offerings for full-time employment include
medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance,
short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits,
commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a
non-qualified deferred compensation plan. Available paid leave
includes Personal Time Off (PTO) on an accrual basis up to 152
hours a year, • 10 Paid Holidays, 1 Community Service Day, and up
to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are
prorated based on hire date within the calendar year. Paid Sick
