A school-based Sign Language Interpreter position is available in the Chicago, IL area, offering opportunities to support educational settings through effective communication assistance. This role involves working closely with students, teachers, and staff to facilitate clear and accurate interpretation between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English, ensuring inclusive learning environments. Key Responsibilities: Provide accurate and professional sign language interpretation services during classroom instruction, school events, and meetings. Collaborate with educators and support staff to accommodate students communication needs. Assist with translating educational materials and facilitating communication in a variety of school settings. Travel to multiple school locations as required to support diverse student populations. Desired Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and certified interpreter credentials preferred. Experience working within educational settings, especially with children and young adults. Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics.
