**Click to submit your application!**American Axle Manufacturing is currently looking for a committed Manufacturing Design Engineer to become part of our Bolingbrook, IL team.The selected individual will be responsible for managing the implementation and selection of automation and robotics in newly-established assembly lines, as well as establishing control charting of critical features and processes, monitoring results, and determining machine and process capabilities and performance reliability on existing product lines.The ideal applicant must have experience in a fast-paced production environment, knowledge of online or offline programming experience, and expertise in working with 3-axis CNC machines.Job Role

• Identify new manufacturing equipment by assessing vendors and operating equipment, analyzing equipment capabilities and service history, and evaluating vendor service and support
• Create manufacturing equipment purchase proposals by studying manufacturing plans and commitments, assessing manufacturing processes and requirements
• Complete equipment cost projections by analyzing investment, return, and savings.
• Find the optimal tooling for machining, resolve design, manufacturability, or build sequence problems
• Meet production requirements by creating necessary equipment modifications and advising crews on equipment installations
• Provide training on new and modified equipment to operators and provide reference and support resources
• Maintain process integrity by creating and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines
• Maintain equipment records by filing documents and updating equipment databases.
• Protect the value of the organization by maintaining confidentiality and warning others about potential breaches
• Perform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications and Skills
  • Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with 3-axis CNC machines
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in Heat Treatment processes preferredYou should be adept in:
    • G-Code
    • M-Code
    • PLC Programming ExperienceMachines and technologies you'll use:
      • CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Fanuc)
      • CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Fuji)Salary info:$38 - $40 / hr
