Contribute: This position is responsible for management of the
business segment, including competitive analysis, product planning,
definition, pricing, forecasting, promotion, product life cycle
management and annual operating plans. You will also be responsible
for coordination with engineering, purchasing, industrialization,
development and manufacturing. Job Duties: Develop short- and
long-range business plans for the product lines consistent with
market needs and corporate strategic plans, forecast business for
the product lines within the business segment, and coordinate with
Manufacturing and Purchasing to manage inventory and lead times.
Define and maintain detailed functional definitions of new products
based on analysis of market requirements, corporate objectives and
available technology and develop marketing plans for the specific
products, including sales objectives, target market, target
applications and promotion to achieve business plan objectives for
assigned products. Determine product pricing and pricing
strategies/policies based on established gross margin objectives
and preparation of plans for margin improvement where necessary.
Prepare competitive analysis and formulation of competitive counter
strategies for new and existing products. Attend technical
symposiums and exhibits to maintain knowledge on available and
competitive technology and to become a thought leader in the
market. Manage product life cycle, including initiation of product
improvements, enhancements, approval of change notices and product
obsolescence consistent with business plans. Determine total market
and available market for the product lines within the business
segment and manage new product launch process from beginning of
marketing specification stage through launch/release to the market.
Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable Badger Meter policies
and procedures. Coordinate with strategic business partners
(Engineering, Support Services, Manufacturing, Sales, Sales
Division, and Support Services) to ensure achievement of business
plan objectives and implement the product training and distribution
plans. Manage assigned white labeled product agreements as they
pertain to the business segment and products within the business
segment. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business,
Engineering or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred
5 years of related experience in a a similar field desired.
Significant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal
degree. Qualifications: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Outlook required Comfortable with software
development tools and methodologies preferred Competencies: Work
