HAVE:The Sr Director of Operational Efficiency leader will report
direct to the Chief Store Ops Officer and will be reponsilbe for
leading the Reinvestment Area Team consisting of two Directors.
This team is a new team and will be responsible for building,
standardizing and sustaining an enterprise wide continuous
improvement platform. The role will be responsible for identifying
and improving end-to-end operational efficiency across all parts of
the business. This leader will be responsible for execution of all
programs, initiatives and training to help build a culture of
continuous improvement across the enterprise. The role will
coordinate activities in alignment with the corporate strategic
goal and will deliver on financial, productivity and performance
goals.CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:The Sr. Director of Operational
Efficiency leader is a champion of Ulta Beauty's mission, vision,
and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently
through the following:* Drive the vision for Operational Efficiency
Team, implementing a best in class strategic roadmap* Lead
Operational Efficiency Team through ideation and diagnosis on key
initiatives;* Spearhead enterprise awareness and adoption of owning
and promoting the continuous improvement vision* Drive the adoption
of best practices and standardization within the organization while
developing customized approaches when appropriate* Oversees the
pipeline of enterprise efficiency opportunities with the highest
priority areas being those with the largest impact to the bottom
line* Work closely with cross functional leaders to improve
end-to-end operational efficiency across all parts of the business*
Lead and build a highly skilled team focused on continuous
improvement capability cross functionally while focused on tackling
'big boulder' initiatives to maximize business impact.* Coach,
collaborate & develop continuous improvement resources on
operational efficiency methods & processes to establish a culture
where tools and methods are utilized in a standard way to deliver
improvements.* Uses Six Sigma process and leads Kaizen events to
translate and document performance improvements to financial values
that align with corporate goals.* Collaborates cross functionally
to quantify and socialize impact to the enterprise as a result of
interconnected processes and workflows.* Partners cross
functionally to identify process gaps within the specific area of
responsibility and influence process improvement initiatives at all
levels.* Works with Executive leaders in annual strategy
development planning process and prioritizes improvement
opportunities based on strategy and tactical planning objectives*
Serves as subject matter expert by generating validated cost
reduction initiatives and process improvements throughout the
organization* Responsible for overseeing the delivery of continuous
improvement performance targets (using DMAIC, Basic Root Cause
Analysis - 5 Why's and Fishbone, Process Mapping and Break Down
Analysis)* Defines and drives business transformation, streamlines
operations, and builds new solutions to simplify business
processes* Maintains positive work relationships with members of
other teams to communicate effectively and ensure support with
cross-team responsibilities* Translates and documents performance
improvements to financial values that align with corporate goalsTHE
ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:Qualified candidates will possess a
Bachelor's degree (preferred) and 10-15 years of equivalent
experience in Continuous Improvement. Additonal requirements:*
Certifications Required: Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Six Sigma
Green Belt and Lean Certification* A leader with a track record of
leading high-performance teams and developing talent* A world-class
lean enterprise leader with demonstrated ability to effectively
deliver meaningful change* Effective in a variety of presentation
settings including one-on-one, small and large groups.Ability to
think broadly when evaluating financial and business indicators and
translating data into actionable information to drive improved
results* Demonstrates excellent motivational leadership skills and
fosters a collaborative team environment that inspires all Team
Members.* Develops annual operational budgets, goals and strategic
plan on a yearly basis and monitors monthly.* Proven track record
in previous assignments of leading project teams to drive OEE,
productivity and profitability* Proven expert level organizational
skills with the analytical ability to problem-solve, multi-task,
and prioritize effectively* Working knowledge of industrial
engineering related principles and techniques including methods
improvement, time and motion study, process development, standards
and incentive programs, material handling concepts and techniques,
automation and technology applications* Experience in Engineering,
Operations, and Project Management, including project team leader.*
Understands operational financial measures and how they are
generated* Advanced analytical mindset and presentation skills*
Ability to motivate others to take action dictated by data* Ability
to lead teams in the achievement of continuous improvement
initiatives* Expert level verbal and written communication skills*
Strong computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft
