Director, IT PMO directs and oversees the IT Project Management
Office and is responsible to ensure the consistent and efficient
execution of IT initiatives that are critical to the delivery of
Ulta Beauty's strategic projects and programs. This role leads and
coaches a high performing team of Portfolio Managers to partner
with IT and business leaders and to drive a consistent process for
the prioritization of demand, funding of initiatives, ensuring
resource capacity and availability and managing interdependencies
between the programs and portfolios that support the enterprise
strategy and goals. The Director, IT PMO is also responsible for
developing the IT PMO operating model and will participate with the
Corporate Strategy team in developing the forward plans for
strategic projects.YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH ALL OF THIS BY: * Relationship
Management: Guides the team that is the primary point of contact
with the business and IT in regards to portfolio and project
management. Champions the strategy to understand stakeholder
objectives and requirements. Establishes solid relationship with
leadership across all business areas and helps them to articulate
the technology needs that will advance business performance.
Coaches team members to further strengthen these cross functional
relationships and to share ownership and accountability for the
business results of technology related projects. Represents IT as
the ultimate escalation point for project-related issue
resolution.* Portfolio Management: Leads the definition,
implementation and continuous improvement of ULTA's IT portfolio
management framework and structure. Is responsible for implementing
effective portfolio governance supported by impactful and
actionable reporting. Organize to promote alignment around strategy
and objectives, multidisciplinary collaboration and accountability
to business outcomes. Sets parameters for prioritization within
each of the portfolios. Leads the on-going monitoring and review of
all portfolios for impact on current business and technical
activities, and the realization of strategic benefits. Recommends
and implements corrective action by engaging and influencing senior
management. * Program Management: Sets organizational strategy
governing the direction and conduct of IT program management,
including the evolution and application of repeatable, adaptable
and scalable methods. Oversees, authorizes and champions activities
to manage the entire lifecycle of complex programs from project
initiation to project close, ensuring the delivery of quality
solutions that meet the constraints of time, cost and scope.
Defines and agrees to technical and business program objectives
with business area leaders, and oversees the selection, planning
and management of all related project activities.* Resourcing: Sets
IT project resource management policy, standards and guidelines.
Leads resource planning, recruitment, selection, assessment,
on-boarding and transitioning of resources to ensure that ULTA has
appropriately skilled resources to meet organizational objectives
and commitments. Leads the forecast on capacity over the
organization's planning and budgeting cycle. Ensures that the
capacity management policies and standards are fit for purpose,
current and applied correctly. Advises on new business proposals
and capacity and demand issues.* Performance Management: Manages
individuals and teams by defining clear roles and effectively
assigning responsibilities in order to achieve corporate
objectives. Provides coaching and support and ensures project,
program and portfolio managers are knowledgeable about their
assigned business unit, business partners and project objectives.
Establishes clear performance objectives, and monitors progress
against agreed quality and performance criteria. * Organizational
Change Management and Transition Planning: Influences and champions
the development and application of processes, tools and techniques
to manage the people aspects of change in order to achieve the
required business results. Works closely with Change Management and
business teams to integrate appropriate change management plans
within the programs, including training and communication
plans.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Sets the strategy for
identifying, communicating and addressing project risks and issues.
Leads resources to implement the strategy, escalate to leadership
when appropriate and manage the resolution and status reporting
accordingly.* Manages the intake and demand management function and
assists the business in navigating the process through effective
project definition, refinement and initiation. * Sets and provides
project leadership direction to cross functional project teams
consisting of IT and Business professionals. * Collaborates with
other project management functions in the organization to align on
methods and ensure consistent use of processes and tools.* Leads
the teams of portfolio, program and project managers in
implementing and applying standard processes and tools to
effectively manage dependencies, risks, issues, scope changes and
quality.* Oversees the consolidated portfolio estimates, schedules
and resource requirements provided by the Portfolio Managers, and
is ultimately accountable for the successful completion of all IT
projects.* Responsible for the understanding and oversight of
project level financial management. * Liaises with Internal Audit
and Finance Executive Leadership to ensure financial and compliance
requirements are upheld across all IT projects and programs.*
Designs project metrics, dashboards and reporting mechanisms to
facilitate decision-making at all levels of the organization from
C-suite to line management.* Guides continuous improvement efforts
from opportunities identified by lessons learned and other
feedback. THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:Qualified candidtes will have
aBachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, or equivalent
professional experience, 10+ years of IT leadership experience, 7+
years' experience leading technology teams and PMP Certification.
Additional requirements include:* Exceptional influencing,
leadership and collaboration skills with demonstrated excellence in
building strong relationships with internal business and IT
leadership. * Must be able to create a roadmap and execute
transformational change. * Large strategic project management
experience preferred.* Experience driving teams of diverse people
with competing priorities to accomplish a common goal. *
Demonstrated PMO and project management planning/ execution skills
with a record of leading projects to obtain tangible business
results. * Task and resource management experience required. *
Strong knowledge of system and software SDLC, PMO and leading
practices and methodologies. * Excellent communication skills;
feels comfortable working with non-technical business partners.*
Must be a high energy team player with a positive working attitude.
* Highly adaptable and comfortable in an extremely dynamic, fast
paced environment. * Able to partner with and manage 3rd party
providers to deliver maximum success.* Able to solve complex
problems efficiently and with minimal assistance.* Minimal travel
required (training/conferences).The following are highly desirable*

certification* Business Relationship Management (BRM) experience
