THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Senior Director, Enterprise Portfolio Management plays a pivotal role in shaping and leading the Integration team within the newly formed Enterprise Transformation Office at Ulta Beauty. This role is responsible for building and managing an integrated view of the enterprise portfolio and multi-year road-map, in to successfully deliver on Ulta Beauty's strategic and financial objectives, working in partnership with the broader Enterprise Transformation Office, senior leadership and key cross-functional stakeholders. This role will establish the governance of how the Transformation Office will work across the organization in support of continual prioritization of the enterprise's most significant investments.

This is a leadership role that will coach and manage a high-performing team of 2 Managers. It is imperative for this role to work with Enterprise Transformation leadership closely, in addition to senior leaders across the enterprise. This is a high-visibility role, and the ability to clearly community complexity, and influence leaders is paramount.

This role will partner closely with other competencies within the Transformation Office including Value Realization, Change Management and program execution (Strategic Portfolio Delivery). This individual should be comfortable in building and managing enterprise processes with senior leaders, demonstrating accountability for results, and managing through ambiguity.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

  • Form the Integration team within the Enterprise Transformation Office with the VP, Enterprise Transformation, including establishing the vision, building the team and creating the operating model (standards, processes, governance) and ongoing enterprise approach.
  • Sit on Enterprise Strategy & Transformation leadership team and work in partnership with Enterprise Transformation leadership to develop, execute and track an integrated 'roadmap' of enterprise initiatives to achieve strategic and annual plans.
  • Architect the way of working for the Integration team across the enterprise, particularly across the Enterprise Transformation Office, as well as with cross-functional program and project leaders.
  • Drive, lead and facilitate ongoing prioritization across Ulta Beauty's portfolio initiatives, working with Enterprise Transformation leadership, providing transparency to ensure that the right projects are moving forward and are held accountable to deliver business value.
  • Understand and uncover dependencies that require close management across the multi-year roadmap of initiatives; work closely with functional leadership to actively manage and adjust in coincidence with the broader portfolio.
  • Engage with enterprise program initiatives to integrate road-maps, facilitate alignment conversations, and influence / support prioritization of the path forward on a continual basis.
  • Partner across all areas of the enterprise to understand priorities, initiatives, status and measurement of key enterprise initiatives in the context of the broad enterprise portfolio.
  • Work closely with the other areas of the Enterprise Transformation Office - Value Realization, Change Management and program execution (Strategic Portfolio Delivery) to establish, socialize and evangelize the new way of working.
  • Understand and navigate prioritization within the boundaries of the organization - strategic, financial and operational - to ensure the portfolio is poised to support successful delivery of Ulta Beauty strategies and financial objectives.
  • Identify and manage critical interdependencies on an ongoing basis across the enterprise portfolio; determine, monitor, elevate and help to mitigate areas of risk.
  • Establish, measure and report metrics to track progress against objectives as it relates to the enterprise portfolio.
  • Provide timely communications to senior management and key stakeholders, escalating risks and issues pro-actively and transparently, with a data-driven mindset and approach.THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

    • Bachelor's degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in enterprise transformation or closely related fields.
    • Experience in strategic / management consulting strongly preferred; alternatively, equivalent position in a retail environment.
    • Demonstrated experience leading teams to establish and lead an Integration team-equivalent within an Enterprise Transformation Office.
    • Looked to as a trusted, capable leader able to drive a program independently, engaging senior leadership at the right level at the right time.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with comfortable financial and technology acumen.
    • Excellent communication skills, including ability to share ideas and information across diverse audiences to drive to business decisions. Ability to synthesize clearly and simplify the complex.
    • Highly collaborative with track record of effective cross-functional leadership and proven ability to influence at all levels, from working teams to senior leadership.
    • Enterprise thinker with ability to 'connect the dots'.
    • Excellent time management, planning, management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and make ongoing decisions with key stakeholder input.
    • High emotional intelligence/IQ and strong relationship management skills.
    • Highest level of integrity and good judgment.
