Manager assists with running the overall business and managing
processes to achieve sales and margin objectives. This role will
develop and execute a strategy for on-line assortment, vendor
management, pricing, and marketing for a specific group of
websites. The Category Manager will collaborate frequently with the
supply chain team, search engine marketing team, graphics design
team and web programming team and come with a drive for
results.This role offers hybrid flexibility! As a hybrid position,
the majority of this role can be performed from home, however will
require in-office training in our Bolingbrook, IL office, and a
weekly in-office presence once trained, for vendor meetings and
collaboration, as needed.Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field, preferred
- Prior HVAC product experience preferred
- 2+ years' experience in Merchandising, Supply Chain, or
Marketing, required
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to generate meaningful
insights and evaluate product/ category performance, required
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, such as pivot
tables, v-lookups, and common functions, required
- Strong math skills and solid financial knowledge
- Demonstrated project, time management and organization
skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member managing and
prioritizing multiple tasks
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- PC proficiency (Word, Excel, Power Point)Responsibilities
- The Category Manager assists with running the overall business

- As a hybrid position, this will require the incumbent to report
to our Bolingbrook, IL office up to one day per week and
additionally for training, vendor meetings and collaboration, as
needed
- Developing and leading long-term strategic vision for allotted
categories and 3rd Party marketplace business
- Sourcing new vendors and arranging vendor partnerships while
working to improve profitability and lead times of current
vendors
- Analyzing current business trends and carrying out decisions
based on the outcome of that analysis
- Establishing and maintaining vendor partnerships while
executing strategies relative to product costs, pricing, terms, and
shipping / return issues while enhancing margin opportunities
- P&L Management and ensuring performance and financial goals
are met
- Setting & maintaining retail pricing strategies & SKU rationale
exercises for responsible categories
- Creating inventory plan to ensure timely flow of goods
- Forecasting future sales and inventory needs and establishing a
buying plan to attain sales and margin goals
- Determining and updating pricing to increase sales and
profitability
- Working closely with the site development team in related
categories
- Increasing and improving web traffic on-line and off-line
through search engine marketing and all other marketing efforts
that creatively promote your online store
- Providing direction to the creative team for imaging and
copywriting to ensure product presentation achieves desired
