Information Technology will play a major role in driving competitive advantage by providing the tools and technologies necessary to better understand consumer insights while helping the company imagine/future proof the business through a lens of technology.The Vice President, Infrastructure and Operations, reporting directly to Ulta Beauty's Chief Information Officer, will be a collaborative thought leader capable of being a leader in the company's technology evolution while optimizing infrastructure and IT operations for flexibility and scale.The Vice President, Infrastructure and Operations is a key leadership role within the organization which is responsible for providing and ensuring a reliable and secure IT infrastructure. They develop and lead a high performing team that is responsible for providing and guaranteeing a reliable infrastructure used to support and operate all systems, network and telecommunication platforms. The leader will assess, scale and improve the infrastructure architecture for all current and future business needs including store and digital growth as well as new and emerging technologies. This includes all operational, design and engineering, capacity planning, service provisioning, security functions and vendor management. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to improve operations while continuously innovating IT platform architecture and applications and is a leader who drives service and operational excellence while supporting internal and external business partners. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leading a team of approximately 120 FTE, develop and oversee the end-to-end strategy, design and implementation of the infrastructure strategy, service delivery standards and procedures for the enterprise
• Ensure high performance and accountability for the delivery and development of distributed and centralized infrastructure services, including Data Centers, Cloud, Networks, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning, Desktop, Help Desk(s), Internet (infrastructure and hosting), Voice, Video and all mobile technologies
• Hire, develop, appraise, mentor and retain an engaged team. Plan and provide continuity and succession for infrastructure management, building a strong organization, culture and workforce strategy
• Contribute to the overall business strategy as part of the leadership team and have an opinion on technology; be a catalyst for leveraging technical innovation to drive business growth, while maintaining a resilient and dependable foundation
• Develop and maintain flexible yet disciplined governance structures to optimize technology priorities, delivery speed and related spend; continuously review and assess performance of financials/budgets, as well as delivery by key vendors to the enterprise.
• Set strategies for service delivery that support Ulta Beauty's strategic needs. Authorize allocation of resources for monitoring service delivery arrangements, ensure that service delivery is monitored effectively and that identified actions to maintain or improve levels of service are implemented
• Drive major projects to completion within budgeted timeframes and cost; operate in open and transparent manner with key stakeholders
• Work with business and other stakeholders to build understanding, consensus and alignment to ensure their infrastructure needs are being met and priorities are set at the appropriate levels
• Responsible for the relationship between technology functions and end users. Set the overall vision for how stakeholder objectives are met and determine organizational roles and alignment. Lead relationship management with the most senior stakeholders, and act as the ultimate escalation point for issue resolution
• Direct the creation and review of an enterprise capability strategy to support the strategic requirements of the business. Advise on the business benefits of alternative strategies. Direct development of enterprise-wide architecture and processes which ensure that the strategic application of change is embedded in the management of the organization. Ensure compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and technology directions, setting strategies, policies, standards and practices.
• Advises on significant enterprise level improvements and measurable business benefits by identifying, proposing, initiating and leading significant programs of improvement. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Drive strategy, innovation, and best practices for IT Infrastructure and Operations
  • Align with and deliver on Ulta's business and IT roadmap. Provide vision for infrastructure & operations roadmap and use that roadmap to inform and guide the strategic and tactical budget planning process
  • Asses the relative impact of industry trends to the current and future infrastructure needs
  • Manage the infrastructure capacity, tools, reporting, and performance management for primary platforms and storage and open systems
  • Oversee desktop deployment, technical support, and data center services
  • Partners with outsourcing vendors, and supports mergers & acquisitions integration
  • Ensure security and risk management assessments, tools and actions are in place
  • Continue to grow and develop a dynamic team of high performers. Provide direct reports all the support and tools required to enable them to effectively manage the growth and development of their associates.
  • Drive the effort to meet or exceed SLA on tickets in OPS and services in Infrastructure
    • The VP, Infrastructure and Operations will be an innovative and dynamic leader, excellent communicator and accomplished executive driver of large-scale technology and digital change. S/he must possess a strong strategic mindset and be able to effectively motivate, challenge and inspire individual staff commitment, while identifying strengths and areas of opportunity for growth
    • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or another relevant field; an MBA or MS is desired
    • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in technology and infrastructure roles. Retail experience is highly desired.
    • Proven ability to deliver large, transformational technology projects on time and on budget
