represents the hiring range. Salaries are determined individually

Join us!Job SummaryThe Senior Manager, Dangerous Goods Regulatory
and Preparedness is responsible for providing direct support to
various functions throughout CN to ensure regulatory compliance,
preparedness and readiness. The role is accountable for all
dangerous goods regulatory compliance including regulatory
reporting and data management, implementation of regulatory
requirements, and for the Care Program. In addition, the incumbent
oversees CN's emergency planning and preparedness as well as
dangerous goods training programs to meet the Company's strategic
goals.Main ResponsibilitiesEmergency Planning and Preparedness -
Ensure network emergency, local, and site-specific response plans
and contingency plans are compliant with regulatory requirements,
regularly updated, and distributed to impacted functions - Ensure
dangerous goods Geographic Response Plans (GRP) are current, and
the GRP system is in a constant state of readiness - Develop and
maintain high value structure emergency response plans - Oversee
dangerous goods and response contractor audit program - Handle the
maintenance, repair, and certifications of CN Dangerous Goods
team's response assets to ensure a constant state of readiness as
well as outreach assets to ensure a constant state of readiness -
Ensure the appropriate Incident Command System (ICS) manual and
associated forms are current to facilitate proper incident
management practicesDangerous Goods Engagement and Outreach -
Implement the CN Dangerous Goods team outreach and training program
ensuring the development, delivery, and implementation of training
to internal and external stakeholders - Ensure the development and
continuous updating of dangerous goods training for employees to
meet current regulatory, safety, and strategic requirements -
Ensure the development and continuous updating of dangerous goods
training curriculum, course offerings, and materials for first
responder - Ensure compliance with regulatory required dangerous
goods training, drills, and exercises - Ensure completion of the
Structured Community Engagement Program (SCEP) and annual proactive
contact with fire departments and emergency management
agenciesDangerous Goods Regulatory Compliance - Ensure all required
dangerous goods regulatory reports are submitted to the appropriate
federal agencies - Complete all regulatory reporting to local,
provincial, and state agencies as required by regulation - Submit
dangerous goods data for industry use in research and risk
reduction - Ensure appropriate dangerous goods information and data
is distributed to stakeholders - Ensure all Special Permits,
Equivalency Certificates, and Registrations are renewed as required
- Ensure compliance with Responsible Care Management System -
Complete the annual route risk assessment to comply with the United
States (U.S.) regulationsWorking ConditionsThe role has standard
working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek
from Monday to Friday occasionally working outside of regular
business hours. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must
be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The
position requires occasional travel (up to 20%) within Canada and
the U.S.RequirementsExperienceManagement - Minimum 5 years of
railroad experience at a management level and working with
government officials - Minimum 10 years of experience in a related
industry leading emergency response or crisis managemento
Experience in project managementEducation/Certification/Designation
- Bachelor's Degree or Certifications in fields such as Emergency
Response Management, Planning, Business Management, or another
related field - Certification in ICSCompetencies - Demonstrates

Interchange (EDI) systems - Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel,
PowerPoint, Word) - Knowledge of railroad operations including
Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) and United States Operating
Rules (USOR) - Knowledge of regulations pertaining to the movement
of dangerous goods - Knowledge of incident command and emergency
