Job Description:
The Loyola University Health System (LUHS) and the Loyola
University Chicago (LUC) Stritch School of Medicine invite
applications for a full-time faculty position on the Clinical
Educator Track (CET) for a Board Certified or Board Eligible
Ophthalmologist who is fellowship-trained in Oculofacial Plastic
and Reconstructive Surgery. Applicants must have completed an
ASOPRS-accredited or equivalent Oculoplastics fellowship. The
expected academic rank is Assistant Professor or higher, with final
rank, tenure status, and salary commensurate with experience and
qualifications. Position Overview We seek an academically motivated
and collaborative oculoplastic surgeon to expand our busy practice
and meet growing regional demand. The position offers opportunities
for multidisciplinary collaboration with ENT, Neurosurgery,
Neurology, Trauma, and Maxillofacial Surgery. Well-equipped minor
OR facilities are available at both Loyola University Medical
Center (Maywood) and the Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge.
Candidate Qualifications * M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical
school * Completion of an ACGME-accredited ophthalmology residency
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology * Fellowship
training in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery *
Eligibility for an unrestricted Illinois medical license *
Demonstrated excellence in patient care, teaching, and academic
engagement * Interest and prior experience in clinical research
Academic and Clinical Environment The Department of Ophthalmology
at Loyola manages over 65,000 annual patient visits across Loyolas
main campus (Maywood), four satellite clinics, and the Edward
Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. The department includes 15 full-time
clinical faculty, 8 full-time research scientists, and a wide range
of subspecialty coverage. Residency Training and Education Teaching
is a core component of this role. The Loyola Ophthalmology
Residency Program trains four residents per year and features a
dedicated Oculoplastics rotation. Educational resources include: *
Advanced wet labs and a virtual reality surgical simulator *
Integrated teaching with Program Director, Vice Chair of Education,
and Co-Chief Residents * Strong track record of residents matching
