Truck Driver Dispatcher

MNS1 Express, a carrier located in Bolingbrook, Illinois, is hiring a truck driver dispatcher.

The Dispatcher is primarily responsible for scheduling drivers to make deliveries and pick up packages or shipments from customers. The Dispatcher communicates with customers to record details about shipments, arrange pick up times, and discuss any special handling issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities may include the following:

• Maintains records, monitoring drivers' daily logs for errors or violations and monitoring their working hours and equipment availability.
  
• Monitors weather at all drivers' locations to be able to flag potential issues.
  
• Serves as a reliable point of contact to balance drivers' health and safety with customer requirements.
  
• Coordinates and manages the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective as a company, combining shipments based on their routes and timeline to minimize how many trucks and drivers are out.
  
• Determines the best delivery methods and negotiates rates directly with vendors and customers and acquires the necessary documents and permits that drivers will need.
  
• Tracks shipment activities and maintains accurate records for utilizing mileage and fuel for accurate documentation into systems for future references.
  
• Identifies traffic problems and issues and creates appropriate corrective action plans to achieve desirable results in a timely manner.
  
• Communicates with drivers and customers to schedule shipment activities and performs administrative tasks to deliver high-quality services for all clients.
  
• Utilizes organizational equipment and updates required information into systems complied with state and federal rules, procedures, and regulations.
  
• Other duties as assigned.
  Qualifications

  Education and/or Experience
  Required:
  
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Transportation or Logistics preferred.
    
  • Minimum two years of trucking transportation experience preferred.
    
  • Computer savvy with knowledge of MS Office.
    
  • Very high attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
    
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively.
    
  • A motivated self-starter with a demonstrated ability to maintain a positive can-do attitude.
