THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: Ulta has embarked on an ambitious plan to modernize its data and analytics capabilities and embed a data driven culture throughout the organization. The Data Quality Lead will establish and mature data governance practices such as data cataloging, data lineage, master data management, data quality rules, and profiling, while also possessing domain knowledge in areas such as Master Data Management, Transactional data, CRM & Data Analytics, etc. This person will work with internal stakeholders from various application IT, business, and data governance teams to develop necessary rules, metrics, controls, policies, and procedures as well as automate those wherever applicable, to create a next generation data operations environment, with an end goal of creating high quality data across the organization. YOU LL ACCOMPLISH ALL THIS BY:

Lead data quality team focused on delivering high quality data across the enterprise. Develop Data Quality framework & strategy for the enterpriseIdentify data quality rules across new initiatives as well as existing applications and datasetsParticipates in projects, being the data quality expert, to help identify the requirements around data quality and work with project level data quality resources to implement thoseWorks with business owners to define and establish definitions and strategies around data quality consistent with operational goalsCollaborate with enterprise data governance teams, technical data leads, data analysts and IT areas to ensure data quality and availability, and to explain the essence and importance of it.Act as the spokesperson for the importance of data quality and its application to successful business strategiesOversee the resolution of data quality issues across the enterprise and ensure it is addressed the right way.Produces data quality metrics and KPIs across various data domains and data assets and measures progress around data quality.Identify automation opportunities in operational processes around data quality and works with IT and other teams to incorporate those.Manage and lead small team of Data quality resources Ensures adherence to data quality standards and best practices, and reviews DQM deliverables ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
A bachelor s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience5+ years Data Quality Management; minimum 2 years as a Data Quality lead in Retail Industry developing and implementing data quality management principles around master data as well as transactional and 3rd party data, especially in Retail industry.Strongly familiar with key data concepts such as Data Quality Management, Data Profiling, Data Aggregation, Metadata Management, Data Standards, Data Dictionary, and Data DomainsWork with technical and operational subject matter experts to understand and collect metadata about systems, processes, reports, controls, data movement, and business terminology.Document inventory of current state data quality controls at enterprise level. Review of DQ progress, set new policies/efforts, review system & process changesWork across development and business teams to understand and aid in data management and governance requirements. Perform root cause analysis on data issues and recommend data quality controls to resolve gaps/issuesMeasure and monitor Baseline assessment of DQ, automate tracking and publish regular status (scorecard) updates on data quality progress to IT and business stake holdersEnsure measurable improvement of Data quality by identifying, developing, and implementing innovative DQ capabilities, strategies, approaches, and services.Knowledge of requirements gathering, design methodology and building DQ test plans and test cases.Work with appropriate team members to ensure data deliverables are complete and the design supports the strategic data visionAssess emerging DQ technologies, and make appropriate recommendations based on IT & business needsHands-on experience in using Test Management / Defect Management tools like JIRA, Zephyr, Confluence, etc.Facilitate and document the agreements on appropriate data and its usage.Ensure all data components are properly integrated and implementedEducate end users on the value of data and its associated attributesProvide support and verify data quality through all stages of implementationExcellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (Verbal and written) to effectively communicate information to customers and to all levels within the organizationHandle multiple projects and assignments concurrently while maintaining high level of quality and effectivenessExperience with applications and/or infrastructure technologies commonly leveraged to support large scale, multi-platform enterprise environments and distributed systems across diverse geographiesAbility to work independently on initiatives with little oversight. Must have strong leadership skills and qualities which enable to work with peers and various levels of management. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTSTechnology & Tools
