THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Digital Analyst, Strategic Analytics contributes to Ulta's business strategy through the use of digital analytics and influences business decisions made within many internal groups at Ulta. This position will require command of digital analytics platforms like Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics, while also possessing an understanding of data capture and the digital landscape. Using these digital signals, the Analyst, Digital Analytics will develop insights that share opportunities with many groups across the organization including eCommerce, Digital Operations, Finance, CRM & Loyalty, Merchandising, etc. in a fast-paced, data-focused retail environment.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH ALL THIS BY:

  • Analyze data from Ulta's digital channel using tools such as Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics, and leverage Google Data Studio & Adobe Analytics Workspace to design and implement intuitive dashboards and visualizations that will help various product teams and other stakeholders make better business decisions.
  • Manipulate and analyze data from Ulta's big data environment, including customer profile info, campaign response, and transaction data, using tools such as SQL, SAS, R and Python.
  • Distill data into clear, concise, and business friendly presentations that deliver insights that lead to actions, and deliver those presentations to various levels of audiences including C-suite executives.
  • Possess an understanding of best practices related to website & app tagging & tracking, including various tag management solutions (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Tealium iQ, mParticle, etc.).
  • Work closely with other Strategic Analytics team members to help drive complex analytical projects and tie guest's digital interaction with various offline data signals.
  • Analyze customer on-site behavior to identify issues or opportunities and create recommendations for future optimizations.
  • Create automated & intuitive dashboards to measure the success of key initiatives.
  • Increase the knowledge and usage of Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics across analytics resources in various teams.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert for other teams in the organization to drive their adoption & usage of digital data in their decision making.

    ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Ideally, 3+ years of experience in an analytics role with specialization in digital analytics.
  • Experience working with digital and eCommerce data within Retail, CPG, Travel & Hospitality, Financial or related industries.
  • Capable of managing multiple project schedules and deadlines that run simultaneously.
  • Ability to work cross functionally to be a thought partner and drive the use of digital data among the organization.
  • BA/BS degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Marketing (with a quantitative focus), or related analytical degree or experience.
  • Proven command of digital analytics tools like Adobe Analytics & Google Analytics.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, and data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau) a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills - must be able to communicate complex ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Capable of working in a dynamic environment, handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing appropriately and responding to issues quickly and creatively with an open and positive attitude.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Energetic and self-motivated - must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to make proactive recommendations.
    PREFERRED OR SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    • SQL, MS Excel/PowerPoint, Tableau
    • Must be able to see the "big picture" and be able to relate findings across various analyses.
