Truly, the possibilities are beautiful. POSITION SUMMARY:The Sr. Analyst role supports informing critical business decisions at Ulta Beauty. They will support cross-functional foundational and forward looking initiatives that may include: progress measurement / brand tracking, identifying macro consumer trends, consumer cohort research and management of our proprietary online community. This position is primarily responsible for the execution of qualitative and quantitative consumer research. - This includes sample planning, questionnaire development, programming surveys, interviewing customers, interpreting and analyzing data, and creating reports. - To accomplish this task, the Sr. Analyst will work with guidance from the Sr. Manager and cross-functional partners to deliver insights that push the business forward. The Sr. Analyst will also be responsible for drawing from various sources, such as external research, syndicated databases, competitive information sources and internal resources to develop insights that provide competitive advantages to Ulta Beauty.CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With guidance and support from the Sr. Manager, execute qualitative and quantitative ad-hoc research projects, including in-store customer interviews, focus groups,
  • With guidance from the Sr. Manager, determining research methodologies for ad hoc researching utilizing qualitative research including focus groups or in-store interviews with customers, quantitative research including targeted surveys to Ulta Beauty members and working with external partners to execute quant research.
  • Alongside the Sr. Manager, engage with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, document research briefs, and communicate outcomes to drive the business.
  • Proactively partners cross-functionally to ensure open dialogue and on-going relationship development by finding common ground for alignment on common goals.
  • Designing surveys, interview guides, or other data collection instruments and determining the appropriate sample based on respondent targeting/selection criteria in partnership with Ulta Beauty's CRM team.
  • Lead responsible for the research community 'white-glove' membership experience and overall community health
  • Programming and testing surveys using Ulta Beauty's survey platform
  • Interpreting and analyzing survey results
  • Creating custom reports based on research results
  • Involvement in presenting results to stakeholders, either through a primary role of presenting the story or supporting the discussion. REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
    • Bachelors or advanced degree in business, marketing or related field
    • 3-5 years experience in market research or consumer insights
    • Expertise in understanding different quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
    • Capable of managing project schedules and deadlines that run simultaneously
    • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
    • Comfortable interacting with customers in-store
    • Hands on end-to-end survey development experience (i.e., survey design and programming)
    • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities
    • Able to quickly learn survey software and other tools
    • Experience with or ability to learn SPSS / Q Research
    • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint PREFERRED OR SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
      • Storytelling approach to writing insights reports
      • Strong organization skills
      • Strong analytic skills including ability to analyze complex datasets
      • Strong data visualization skills
      • Sense of curiosity
